Well,it depends on the major you are in, the lifestyle you lead.


Hong Kong, a really international city. Many large companies and famous university are at Hong Kong. If you major in finance, business,it's really the best chioce.


Like Hong Kong,Shanghai is also a international city with high level of technology and economics. There's no problem for foreigner in both Shanghai and Hong Kong for people there all speak fluent English. In Shanghai, you will have easy access to high-tech,Chinese culture and entertainments. The life pace is quite fast.


Beijing,as a southerner,I don't see the advantage to study in Beijing over Shanghai.Beijing has been long considered the capital of China, politic center. Yes, it do has many universities and two best in China mainland. But it might not be a good choice for international students to study in and fit in. But you can enjoy Chinese culture fully.


At last,as a ZJUer (Zhejiang University in Hangzhou), I highly recommend you to study in Hangzhou. Hangzhou may not as famous as Shanghai and Beijing. But in Hangzhou, you can experience the gentle beauty of South China's. West Lake is typical of it. Its life pace is easy .Zhejiang University is famous for its engineering and technology major in China. There are more practitioners in ZJU,here you can also learn a lot and meet with high-tech and great company like Alibaba.

Chinese culture is a very fraught area. Under the communist party we saw an attack on Chinese traditional culture not seen perhaps since the Qin dynasty. Now Chinese people are very Westernized while practicing some elements of Chinese culture.
